Celebrate the Present Moment

Satbir Singh ‘Nirvair’
Life is so uncertain; you might not even live to see tomorrow. We should live as if today is the last day on earth. Life is unexpected, you never know what can happen tomorrow, so enjoy life to the fullest this day, this moment as they say ‘KAL HO NA HO’.
Life is short, live your dreams and wear your passion. Smile your way through the struggles of life and completely utilize and value what you have. Every day is a great opportunity and one must make the most of it. Take everyday with full enthusiasm and do everything you love to do. Never worry about past or future as past has passed and future is unseen and we don’t have control over the both. The simple principle to live life is “Do the best and to God leave the rest”.

Give up fears about tomorrow and stop worrying about past. Learn to enjoy this moment, the moment you are in and you see that you give it your best. As your mind becomes still in the moment you get clarity of thoughts and a fearless mind will increase your prowess manifold. All and everything will be automatically taken care of once you learn art of staying in the present moment. According to Lord Buddha “The secret of health for both mind and the body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future or anticipate troubles but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
People tend to take for granted the good that is already present in their lives. Every one of us have the precious gifts of nature viz our body, our soul, this beautiful universe. We can enjoy nature, sun, moon, mountains, rivers, sea, flowers, trees, and the list is unending and above all the people who love you. Enjoy the little things around you, the sunrise, sunset, raining, the time spent with your loved ones, or just having a wonderful dinner with your family and friends after a hectic day.
If you are waiting for big events to celebrate life, you are making a big mistake. Life is collection of little little moments of joy. Many people have all material abundances but no sign of joy, peace and happiness on their face. This is because they always worry about their future and lose their present moments of enjoying. Whatever moment you get in life even smallest enjoy it otherwise you will not get any chance to celebrate.
Be grateful for what we have in our life and stop complaining as unnecessary complaining spreads negativity and hinders our progress. Try to be a minimalist. Minimalists are happier with less of everything. Father of nation M.K. Gandhi was a minimalist who had famously said “Nature has enough for everyone’s need but not enough for their greed”. The more you desire something, the more you become a slave to it and can’t live your life in freedom.
Learn the art of appreciation and seeing the positive and optimistic aspect of life. Don’t be a judge or critic. Take care of your relationships by telling people that you love them, being proactive in spending time with them, and finding ways to resolve conflicts. Don’t keep grudges. Your relationships will be there for you as long as you nurture them. Forgive your mistakes, forgive other people and become free of that that keeps you restricted.
Try to be the least bothered about other’s lives, if you want to enjoy your life to its maximum. Your life is unique and enjoy whatever privileges you get and never compare your life with other’s life, creating unnecessary frustration. Use other people’s life only as inspiration but not for any comparison or unhealthy competition.
The crux of the matter is to enjoy life to fullest, love unconditionally, do not hold grudges and cherish every moment you live. Live life to your heart.
Every moment life changes its shape. Tomorrow you may not have with you your loved ones, your private moments and thank God for what you have in your life. World famous spiritual leader and founder of the art of living foundation Padam Vibhushan Sri Sri Ravi Shanker says “Time is always new; every day is new. But when we attend to it with all our attention and enthusiasm, we make it a celebration.” Let me conclude with verses
“UTSAV MANAO JO AAJ HAI AB HAI
AGALI SAANS KA BHAROSA KAB HAI
APNO SANG BITAE YADGAR PAL
SATBIR DOBARA NA AAENGE KAL”
