LEH, Feb 2: Taking up the subject of creating two full fledged transmission divisions with two sub divisions and two additional maintenance sub-divisions each for Leh and Kargil districts in view of huge transmission network coming up for evacuation of power from the Nimo-Basgo, Leh and Chhutuk Kargil Hydro Projects, CEC LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar wrote a letter to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today requesting to examine the matter on priority for sanctioning.
CEC told Omar that the Superintending Engineer, Electric M&RE has already submitted a proposal to this effect to the Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing, Srinagar for creation of two full fledged transmission divisions with two sub divisions and two additional maintenance sub-divisions each for Leh and Kargil districts in view of the enormous work expansion in the energy sector as a consequence of commissioning of the two mega Hydro Projects in the twin districts.
Along with the sanctioning of the sub-divisions, Spalbar also made a request to sanction staff as proposed by the PDD to take over the sub-station and transmission lines of Nimo-Basgo.
