LEH, Sept 5: Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar today inaugurated two new blocks of SNM Hospital here in presence of former minister and MLA, Leh Nawang Rigzin Jora and Executive Councilor PWD. These two blocks (A&D) have been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2450 lakhs and Rs 767.16 lakhs, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, CEC highlighted the achievements of the fourth Hill Council and especially in the Health sector giving instance of significant decrease in child mortality rate and death rate in the district. He appreciated the doctors, medical and paramedics staff for improving the health standards in the district with their dedicated and sincere services to the patients. Besides, having good infrastructural facilities, Spalbar stressed on educating people and creating awareness on health issues.
Rigzin Jora in his address credited the super senior doctors of Ladakh for lying the foundation of SN Hospital, Leh. He asserted, “only building and machinery does not run a hospital, it is the work culture inculcated by our senior doctors which has strengthen the base of this hospital.”
He added that it is the serving intention among our doctors, medical and paramedic staff which has set SNM Hospital exemplary in terms of health care services, facilities, cleanliness etc in the entire State. He also appreciated every leader and Government employees for working with dedication for the welfare of the people and society.
EC, Health Dr Sonam Angchuk in his welcome speech gave a detail on total expenditure incurred on the construction of the complete five new blocks of SNM hospital, Leh and also mentioned about the machinery and equipments including the oxygen plant, CT scan machine & building, ICU, SNICU, PUSC, Geriatric word, etc. He expressed great satisfaction over the function and services provided by the hospital.
CMO, Leh Dr Phuntsog Angchuk gave the vote of thanks. Prominent among others present on the occasion included councilors, religious heads, P Namgial- former Union Minister, Nurboo Gyaltsan- former MLC and Padmashree Sonam Wangyal.
