CCIU recovers 43 missing Smartphones, Rs 8 lakh defrauded online

DODA, June 19: Cyber Crime Investigation Unit (CCIU) of Police here today under the supervision of SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta recovered online defrauded money amounting Rs 8,39,004 along with 43 lost mobile phones whose estimated value is around Rs. 8,00,026.
The operation in this regard was led by PSI Ankush Nagra.

Giving details in this regard, Police sources informed that after registering complaints regarding the online cheating and lost mobile phones, CCIU team used advanced technical skills which ultimately led to the successful recovery of defrauded money amounting to Rs. 8,39,004 along with 43 missing mobile phones.
SSP Doda, Sandeep Kumar Mehta handed over the recovered mobile phones to their rightful owners at District Police Headquarters Doda and appealed to the general public to take utmost care of their mobiles as they contain personal data and there is every possibility of misuse.
He asked the general public to report promptly to the National Helpline number 1930 or lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in in case of lost/stolen mobile phone.
