JAMMU, Dec 31: Cyber Crime Investigation Centre of Excellence, Crime Branch, Kashmir conducted a cyber awareness programme at Shahi Hamdan School at khumani Chowk Bemina of district Budgam wherein the participating students and faculty members of the institution were informed about the possible lacunas in the usage of cyber space /internet that a cyber criminal / fraudster may exploit to commit any cyber crime with them .
The participants were educated regarding various types of cyber crime ,modus operandi adapted by cyber fraudsters and cyber crime reporting portals / helpline number 1930 for reporting any such incident in future .
The programme was conducted by Deputy Superintendent of Police (SHO) CICE, Srinagar Ashiq Hussain Malik along with Inspector Masroor Ahmad and SgCt Javid Ahmad .
The speakers, in addition to , imparting basic knowledge of day to day cyber crime incidents, also briefed them with the ways to prevent themselves from such crimes in future.
More than 200 participants actively engaged the speakers and sought responses from them in the question answer session of the programme.
The principal of the institution Aijaz Ahmad Baba hailed the efforts of the speakers of CICE Srinagar and passed on a note of thanks to the head of the department for conducting such a programme in their institution.
