CBI court adjourns Kiru Hydropower Project corruption case for Sept 4

JAMMU, July 25: Special Judge CBI Jammu Pawan Sharma today adjourned Kiru Hydropower Project corruption case for September 4.
The CBI had filed chargesheet against former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satyapal Malik, Navin Kumar Choudhary, the then Chairman, CVPPPL, Rupen Pravin Patel (since expired); M/s Patel Engineering Pvt Ltd through its Director Muthirakkalayil Samuel Babu, Mahesh Kumar Mittal, Arun Kumar Mishra, Virender Singh Rana, Kanwar Singh Rana and Kawaljit Singh in connection with alleged corruption in the award of Rs 2,200-crore civil works for Kiru Hydropower Project.
When the case came-up for hearing Public Prosecutor was present for CBI. Senior Advocate K S Johal, along with Advocate Devansh Thakur were also present and filed Vakalatnama on behalf of Kanwar Singh Rana.
The court directed PP for the CBI to provide a copy of the chargesheet to counsel for the accused. The PP submitted that sanction in the case is still awaited and he shall submit the sanction report on or before the next date of hearing. Upon this, court adjourned the case for September 4, 2025.
