CBFC includes Kashmiri language in certification system

JAMMU, Oct 30: After directions from the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has included Kashmiri language in its certification system.
Earlier, a senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma met the Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and raised his concern as two young filmmakers from J&K, Siddarth Koul and Ankit Wali had met him after facing major hurdle while applying for CBFC certification for their feature film titled ‘Batt Koch’ because Kashmiri language was not listed as an option in the certification category.
After the Kashmiri language was included in CBFC certification system, the same was personally communicated to Chander Mohan Sharma by the Minister through Rajender Singh, CEO, Film Censor Board.
Chander Mohan Sharma expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister for prompt and positive response.
