CBC Jammu holds workshop on PIDPI

JAMMU, Nov 3: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Regional Office Jammu, today organized a workshop on “Public Information Disclosure and Protection of Informers Resolution (PIDPI)” as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025.
The workshop aimed to sensitize regional and field-level employees on the importance of ethics, integrity, and transparency in public administration.
It also sought to raise awareness about mechanisms that protect whistleblowers who expose corruption and misconduct.
In his keynote address, Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC Regional Office for J&K and Ladakh, urged officers and officials to uphold honesty and work collectively to eliminate corruption at all levels.
He emphasized that maintaining integrity in governance is vital for public trust.
Deputy Director Ayushi Puri welcomed the participants and outlined the objectives of the session.
She explained that the annual observance of Vigilance Awareness Week reflects the Government’s continued commitment to promoting ethical conduct and accountability in public life.
Delivering a detailed presentation, Kamal Sangra, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K, discussed the provisions of the PIDPI-2014 resolution.
He explained its role in protecting whistleblowers and strengthening the fight against corruption.
Citing examples of crimes against whistleblowers in India, he underlined the importance of a strong legal framework like PIDPI.
Sangra also spoke about this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week theme, “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” emphasizing that the fight against corruption requires the active participation of every citizen.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session.
Among the participants were Naseer Ahmad Rather, Field Publicity Officer Srinagar; Shahid Mohammad Lone, FPO Anantnag; Ashwani Gupta, Senior Accounts Officer, CBC Jammu; and Omprakash Maurya, Administrative Officer, CBC Jammu.
