DODA, Sept 30: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Field Office Doda, in collaboration with Municipal Council Doda, organized an awareness programme on the New Criminal Laws, Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and Swachhta Hi Seva.
The event included a seminar, cultural activities and a plantation drive. Students from Green Model Higher Secondary School, Chenab Valley Public School, Shaheen Public Higher Secondary School and Government Girls Higher Secondary School participated in the programme.
Speakers from different institutions delivered lectures on the three themes. SI Juneefar Rana of J&K Police spoke about the New Criminal Laws, while teacher Imran highlighted the importance of Swachhta Hi Seva. Dr Mohammad Shuaib stressed adopting eco-friendly habits under Mission LiFE.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda, Ashraf Parvaiz, who was the Chief Guest, praised CBC for holding the event and urged citizens, especially youth, to take active part in such initiatives.
In-charge CBC Field Office Doda, Vikram Uppal, welcomed the guests, presented saplings and later extended a vote of thanks, stressing that awareness can succeed only through collective participation.
Cultural performances by the Nagani Cultural Troupe and a plantation drive under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” were also held.
The programme concluded with felicitation of students, experts and dignitaries.
It successfully conveyed messages of legal awareness, sustainable living and cleanliness to the citizens of Doda.
