JAMMU, Oct 1: Crime Branch Jammu has produced challan in the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu against the then Patwari of Sarore Mohammed Aslam who is presently as Naib Tehsildar Jindrah, then Girdawar Sukhdev Singh, late Mohammed Yaqoob and Mohammed Ashraf for mutating the Revenue records.
According to a handout issued by Crime Branch here, today a case FIR No 12/2004 U/S 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC was registered against them in Police Station Crime Branch Jammu.
It said the case was registered on the recommendation made in preliminary inquiry on the complaint of Desh Bandhu S/o Dhila Ram of village Sarore , tehsil and district Jammu against the then Patwari Halqa Sarore including the then Tehsildar, Jammu and Mohammed Yaqoob, Mohammed Ashraf and Sardar Khan all sons of Abdul Gani Gujjar of Sarore Jammu for tempering the Revenue records to cause wrongful losses to the complainant who alleged that the then Tehsildar, Jammu instructed the Patwari to tamper the entire revenue record relating to Khasra No 707/708 belonging to Dhila Ram and insert the names of Mohammed Yaqoob, Mohammed Ashraf and Sardar Khan showing them tenants from the year 1971 onwards and accordingly he managed to transfer the land in their name under Land Reforms Act 1976.
During the course of investigation the file of preliminary inquiry and Revenue record including registers Girdawari pertaining to year 1967-93 were seized during the investigation by CB. In addition, part Sarkar of mutation No 848 relating to Khasra No 707/708 of village Sarore were also seized. All the records were scrutinized by investigating officer of CB and it was found that ink removal was used to omit the original entry and insert the fake names. This was substantiated by FSL report, the handout added.
