JAMMU, Dec 8: Crime Branch Jammu today produced challan against proprietor of Chenab Gas Agency and Shivangi Gas Agency and others before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu.
The case was registered on an information received through reliable source to the effect that number of dealers/suppliers of cooking gas agencies in Jammu have clandestinely maintained fake and fraudulent gas records on fictitious and non-existent names whereby gas obtained on subsidized rates from the Government is fraudulently issued to the fictitious persons.
It was found that this racket was being run by the dealers/suppliers of the LPG agencies operating in Jammu with the active connivance of some other departments.
During the course of investigation, the accused persons were found to have committed offence under Sections 406, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B RPC read with Section 3/7 EC Act.
