JAMMU, Jan 29: The Crime Branch (CB) has filed a charge-sheet against four individuals, including the director of a Bengaluru-based company, for allegedly duping a Jammu-based doctor of Rs 30.5 lakh on the pretext of setting up a gym in a joint venture.
A Crime Branch official said that the case was registered on February 20, 2023, based on a complaint by Dr Anuj Arora, a dentist from Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
In his complaint, the CB official said, Dr Arora had accused the directors of M/S Chisel Fitness LLP of fraud after they failed to deliver on their promise of establishing the gym.
A detailed investigation by the CB, which included raids in Bengaluru last month, revealed that the office of Chisel Fitness LLP at 36 NR Chambers, Richmond Road, Bengaluru, had been closed for the past 3-4 years. The investigation also involved coordination with local police in Bengaluru.
Accordingly, the CB official said, the charge-sheet was filed in the court against the accused Satya Shardul Sinha, founder and director of Chisel Fitness LLP; Sushil Kumar Tongbram, director at Chisel Fitness LLP; Dr Kingmoohan, director at Corporate & Legal Affairs LLP; and Gangoni Poorna Chandra, architect at Chisel Fitness LLP.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Crime Branch, Benam Tosh confirmed that the charge-sheet has been filed and the case has now been handed over to the court for judicial proceedings.
