CB charge sheets man for cheating

SRINAGAR, Dec 14: The Crime Branch Kashmir today chargesheeted a person from Srinagar in a case pertaining to cheating.
In a statement, CB said that the chargesheet has been filed in the case FIR No: 07/2106 U/S 420 RPC before the Court of City Judge Srinagar against one accused person namely Syed Afaq Miraj S/o Syed Miraj u din R/o Gilli Kadal, Nowshara Srinagar for duping and grabbing Rs 25,15000 from one Hakim Nadeem Abass S/o Hakim Mashood Ahmad R/o Baghwan Pora Lal Bazar Srinagar.
Detailing the case, CBK said that it received a written complaint from Hakim Nadeem Abass alleging that Syed Afaq Miraj, sole proprietor of M/S SAISHA Enterprise who happened to be friend of complainant had acquired a piece of land measuring 04 kanals at Industrial Estate (SIDCO) Khanmoh area of Srinagar on lease for construction of SSI unit under name and style M/S Saisha Enterprise.
In the complaint, it was alleged that the accused had some financial constraints and he planned to sell the said unit and persuaded the complainant to purchase the unit in question.
“Being unemployed the complainant purchased the same and subsequently entered into an agreement (receipt cum Declaration) and paid an amount of Rs.25,15000. But the alleged accused failed to provide him the partnership nor he returned the money,” the CBK said.
As per CBK, an enquiry was initiated and the alleged accused was found involved in the commission of the crime, subsequently, case FIR No. 07/2016 U/S 420 was registered in P/S Crime Branch Kashmir against the accused.
“During the course of the investigation, statements of the persons familiar with the facts and circumstances of the case were recorded. Records pertaining to subject matter were obtained from the concerned offices and were seized, as per the procedure,” CBK said.
It said that based on facts and circumstances that emerged during the investigation, the investigation of the case was concluded as ‘Proved” under section 420, against the accused Syed Afaq Miraj and a charge sheet of same was filed before the court of law.
