JAMMU, Feb 18: In a significant move, the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) Jammu Bench has cracked down on Government officials, who have shown blatant disregard for the judicial process, and stopped the salaries of these officials for their failure to file replies in various old cases despite being granted numerous opportunities.
The officials whose salaries have been stopped are Principal Secretary School Education Department, Director School Education, Chief Engineer Power Development Department, Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department, Superintendent, Govt Hospital Sarwal.
The order in this regard has been passed by the Division Bench of the CAT Jammu comprising Judicial Member Rajendra Singh Dogra and Administrative Member Ram Mohan Johri. The Tribunal’s order sends a strong message to all Government officials that defiance of court orders and neglect of judicial proceedings will not be tolerated.
The CAT Jammu Bench was patient and lenient, granting multiple opportunities to these officials to file their replies. However, despite these efforts, the officials have shown a blatant disregard for the judicial process, forcing the Tribunal to take strict action.
The CAT Jammu Bench’s order underscores the importance of respecting the judicial process and the rule of law. The Tribunal’s decision is also a reminder to all Government officials that they are not above the law and that they will be held accountable for their actions.
