JAMMU, Dec 11: Two contesting candidates have been booked under J&K Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1985.
As per police sources, Returning Officer (RO) and Sub-District Magistrate (SDM) RS Pura Rajinder Sharma directed SHO RS Pura police station to register FIRs against contesting BJP candidate Dr Gagan Bhagat and PDP candidate Bhushan Lal under J&K Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1985.
Acting on the directions of RO, a case under FIR numbers 222/14 and 223/14 under J&K Prevention of Defacement of Property Act 1985 were registered against Dr Bhagat and Bhushan Lal respectively.
When contacted, SHO RS Pura police station Abid Rafiqi confirmed that on the directions of RO, cases have been registered against aforesaid candidates.
