Cardamom futures recover on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 1: Cardamom prices recovered by Rs 6.10 to Rs 1027.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by an improved demand in the spot market amid lower arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January recovered by Rs 6.10, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 1027.80 per kg in business turnover of 909 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in February traded higher by Rs 5.90, or 0.55 per cent to 1,072 per kg in 212 lots.
Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market against less arrivals from producing belts, mainly helped cardamom prices to rise at futures trade. (PTI)
