NEW DELHI, May 14: Cardamom prices fell by 2.99 per cent to Rs 661.50 per kg in futures trade today, as participants trimmed positions amid a weak trend in spot markets.
Besides, profit-booking at prevailing levels also put pressure on prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May fell by Rs 20.40, or 2.99 per cent, to Rs 661.50 per kg in business turnover of 263 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in June shed Rs 5.30, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 749.70 per kg, with a trading volume of 574 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand against adequate stocks in the spot market, mainly kept pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
