Car taken into custody after number plate, RC mismatched

JAMMU, Jan 12: Police has taken a car into its custody after its number plate and Registration Certificate (RC) was found mismatched here today.
As per police sources, a team of Traffic Police Department during checking near Gujjar Nagar bridge today intercepted a car.
During scrutiny of documents, the number plate and registration certificate of the car being driven purportedly by a Government employee was found mismatched.
The car was immediately taken into custody and handed over to Gujjar Nagar Police for investigation.
However, no case was registered when last reports were compiled.
When contacted, SHO Peer Mitha Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq confirmed about taking the car into custody.
“We have called the driver (purportedly Government employee) of the car to ascertain the facts”, he added.
