Car plunges into gorge; 1 killed, 5 injured

DODA, Mar 8: One person was killed and five others were injured of which two were critical when the car they were onboard veered off the road and landed in a deep gorge near Fafri area of the mountainous Doda district on Saturday evening.
The ill fated car of EECO make bearing registration number JK06A-6642 was moving from Ghundna and proceeding towards Fafri.
Immediately after the accident, locals of the area along with cops retrieved the injured persons and shifted them to the Associated Hospital GMC Doda where Nazim Batt, 19, son of Mohd Yousaf, resident of Ghundna was declared as brought dead.
The critically injured persons were Irfan Ahmed, 40, son of Gh. Rasool Batt and Adil Hussain, 30, son of Mohd Shabir, both residents of Ghundna and they were shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
Other injured persons were Mozim Shafi, 18, son of Mohd Shafi; Asif Ali, 16, son of Riaz Ahmed and Yasir Hameed, 18, son of Abdul Hamid, all were residents of Ghundna.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
