Car of drug peddler attached; another accused in NDPS case arrested

UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Udhampur Police today attached property worth Rs 6 lakh of an alleged drug peddler besides arresting another accused in a commercial quantity NDPS case
A car bearing registration number JK15C-2964, owned by Mohd Younis Malla son of Mohd Yaqoob Malla, resident of Shilvat, Sumbal, Bandipora has been attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in case FIR No.117/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Rehambal. The accused is presently lodged in District Jail Udhampur in connection with the said case. During investigation, a detailed inquiry was conducted. Based on the criminal record & financial investigation. It was established that the said vehicle had been acquired through illegally earned money. Accordingly, the property has been attached under the relevant provisions of law.
Meanwhile, during the course of investigation in FIR number 163/2024 under sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act at Police Station Chenani, backward link was established on the basis of technical, financial and oral evidence against the accused Tanzeer son of Mohd Sayeed Majar, resident of Sudhpora, Karnah, District Kupwara, who has now been arrested. He is the third accused arrested in this case.
The accused also has a criminal history and is involved in previous NDPS cases FIR No. 94/2021 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Karnah, Kupwara and FIR No. 03/2025 U/S 8/21/29 NDPS Act of PS Parimpora.
