SRINAGAR, Aug 27: An Alto car today caught fire near the Headquarters of the Fire and Emergency Services in Batamaloo resulting in severe damage to the vehicle.
The flames were doused after the people passing through the road pushed the car towards the entrance of the Fire and Emergency Headquarters making it easy for the personnel of the Fire Department to control the flames.
The incident took place around 4:00 pm and there was no report of loss of human life but the car as per the eye-witnesses suffered severe damage.
The eye-witnesses said that despite informing the fire department, they did not budge to douse down the flames and it was after people pushed the car towards the entrance and the men of the department came out with water cannons that the flames were finally brought under control.
