UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Emotional and patriotic fervour gripped a large audience at Sher -E-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur as the family members of 10 police martyrs were honoured by Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust, here today.
The programme was organised by the Trust to commemorate 9th martyrdom day of Martyr Captain Tushar (Shourya Chakra), who lost his life while fighting terrorists in the Pampore area of South Kashmir in 2016. Click here to watch video
ADGP Garib Dass, Director SKPA , was the chief guest while Rayees Mohd Bhat, DIG Udhampur Reasi range was the guest of honor and Nagpure Amod Ashok, SSP Udhampur and Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman Team Jammu were special guests on the occasion.
Beside others, Chairman of the trust, Dev Raj Gupta , mother of the martyr, Asha Gupta, senior members Kalpana Jamwal, Satish Chopra, Shewatketu Singh, Ranjit Parihar ,Vikas Manhas, Deepanker Gupta, Kusum Tickoo, Pratibha Bhat, Chairman Brahram Rishi Vidya Peeth, Chinmaya Jyoti Didi, Principal Happy Model School Dr Vikram Gulati, senior Army and Police officers and prominent citizens, students attended the function.
Speakers on the occasion paid rich tribute to Captain Tushar Mahajan and said he was the epitome of true Indian soldier who did not mind sacrificing his life for the country. His courage, devotion and sacrifice would always be remembered and inspiring everyone. They also appealed youths to follow the foot prints of bravehearts and always remain standby for the service of nation as and when needed. They also stressed that we should not remember our martyrs on special occasions only but feel their families honoured by visiting to them on special occasions and offering helping hand to them every time.
Those who were honoured during the function, included family of Martyr PSI Deepak Sharma, DySP Kuldeep Singh, HC Rattan Singh, SPO Pardeep Kumar, HC Balwan Singh, HC Mohd Aslam, Constable Shabir Ahmed, Constable Rajinder Sharma, Constable Suraj Bhan, Constable Deewan Singh and Constable Raj Kumar.
Documentaries on valour of the martyrs were also showed on the occasion. Students presented group patriotic song on the occasion while Dev Raj Gupta presented vote of thanks. Stage was managed by Kusum Tickoo.
