JAMMU, July 9: The Consumer Affairs Department today booked 16 shopkeepers and recovered a fine of Rs 7000 for various violations.
A team of the enforcement wing of the department inspected vegetable, fruit, mutton, chicken and others shops in Roop Nagar, New Plot, Bhagwati, Nagar and Canal Road and booked sixteen shopkeepers.
The team recovered Rs 7000 as fine from the traders for violation of price display order and overcharging.
The inspecting team instructed the mutton, fruit and vegetable sellers besides sweetshop owners to display the rate list in bold letters at their shops and refrain from overcharging from the consumers.
