CAPD imposes Rs 7500 fine on violators

RAMBAN, Aug 2: A Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution team today charged Rs 7500 fine from the violators during massive checking conducted in various markets of the town here today.
To ensure the availability of essential commodities   at affordable rates, the officials from CA&PD,  Municipality and   Police   conducted    surprise checking of different markets in Ramban.
As many as  42 shops of Karyana, Mutton, Chicken, Dhabas, Hotels and Gas agency were checked during which fine of Rs. 7500 was charged from  23 establishments for violation of  E/C Act & Liquidate Petroleum Act. Besides eight domestic LPG cylinders were seized from Dhabas and Hotels.
The owners of Dhabas and Hotels were asked   not to use domestic LPG for commercial purpose. The checking squad also asked the shopkeepers to refrain from overcharging and selling of substandard food items.
