POONCH, Nov 20: The Agriculture Sub Division Poonch today organized a one-day capacity-building farmers training programme on Soil and Land Resource Information System and Soil Health Management (P-19).
The programme was organised under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) at the conference hall of the Chief Agriculture Office Complex, Poonch.
Around 70 farmers from different areas of the district participated in the programme.
Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Poonch, Jograj Singh Salathia was also present during the session.
Assistant Soil Chemist Poonch, Pawan Dev Singh Jamwal, delivered an in-depth lecture on the significance of soil testing, proper soil management practices and their role in enhancing crop productivity and doubling farmers’ income.
Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Poonch, Tirath Singh Balwal, briefed the farmers about various centrally sponsored schemes of the department and urged them to avail maximum benefits from the farmer welfare initiatives.
Subject Matter Specialist (SDL) Poonch Naresh Raina, AEO Chandak Sukvinder Singh, JAEO Sathra Darminder Singh, AEA Shahpur Sanjeev Kumar Sharma and other staff members were also present during the programme.
