JAMMU, July 3: A two-day capacity building program for Gojri language teaching and learning conducted by the Education in Languages (EIL) Wing JKSCERT-KD was commenced at GHSS Kokernag today.
It is a wonderful initiative taken under the abler guidance of the Joint Director JKSCERT-KD, Syed Shabir Ahmad.
The program focussed on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges to develop the ecosystem of Gojri as a mother tongue in the Gojri-speaking regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
This is a welcome step indeed as far as the directives and framework of NEP 2020 envisages the same.
The first day of the program began with the inaugural message of the Joint Director SCERT-KD, conveyed by HoD SCERT, Mohammad Sultan Khan, incharge JKSCERT-KD.
The major highlights of the day were the group work, presentations and thought-provoking sessions of the SCERT Resource Persons (RPs), moderated by coordinator Shabir Hussain Shabir.
Various resource persons deliberated upon the importance and need of multilingualism with impetus upon the scheduled languages.
It was made clear that communication needs to be multilingual, so as to understand the content effectively.
The programme serves as a significant step toward fostering inclusive and mother tongue-based education in line with the vision of NEP 2020.
It reflected a collective commitment to preserving linguistic heritage and empowering educators in Gojri-speaking regions through collaborative learning and dialogue.
