RAMBAN, May 14: Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at Principal District and Sessions Court Ramban, Parbat Singh here today died in a tragic road accident at Genthi Morh near Tunnel T2 on Jammu Srinagar National Highway.

Police sources informed that a rashly and negligently driven tanker bearing registration number PB35Q-9278 while on way to Jammu from Srinagar hit a scooter near Genthi Morh leaving the rider dead on the spot.
On getting information, cops reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased scooter rider to District Hospital Ramban and he was identified as Parbat Singh, 59, son of Ram Krishan, resident of Dhanmasta, Pogal Paristan Tehsil, Ramban.
SHO Police Station Ramban, Inspector Vikram Parihar said the driver involved in the accident was arrested and the vehicle was impounded.
Police has registered a case in this regard in FIR number 95 under relevant sections of the law at Police Station Ramban and started investigation.
After post-mortem and other legal formalities, body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
Sources informed that the deceased Parbat Singh was heading to attend his duties in the Court when a tanker knocked him to death.
Meanwhile, Judicial Employees Welfare Association Ramban, Bar Association Ramban, entire judicial fraternity, MLA Ramban, Arjun Singh Raju and several religious and political organizations have condoled the demise of Prabhat Singh and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
