JAMMU, June 28: A meeting regarding creation of Green Corridor for transport of Human Organ under National Organ Transplant Programme (NOTP) was organized by the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) at Jammu Airport under the chairmanship of Airport Director Sanjeev Kumar Garg.
The meeting was organized in the conference hall of Airport Authority of India. Dr Sanjeev Puri, Joint Director, State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) J&K gave a detailed power point presentation about Green Corridor for transport of Human Organ from Government Medical College Jammu to other hospitals in the UT and outside the UT where the organ is to be transplanted successfully to the needy patient within the golden hours without much delay.
Irfan Ahmed, Transplant Coordinator, SOTTO J&K described the Organ allocation under NOTP and flow of events that take place after a person is declared Brain Dead in the hospital and becomes an Organ Donor. Director Jammu Airport assured all possible support for this noble cause.
The meeting was attended by D S Daniel Dhanraj (Commandant, CISF, Airport), his Assistant Commandant RS Jamwal and APMs of Indigo & Spicejet Airlines, Sukhdev Singh and Deepak Anand, respectively, Airport Managers Ravi Raman and Archana Koul along with Dr Mohit Kapoor, Medical Officer I/C Airport and Suhaib Khan, JE, Operations.
The meeting concluded with all the members signing pledge form to become Organ Donors.
