JAMMU, Aug 7: Unidentified thieves decamped with cable car worth Rs 5-6 lakhs from Transport Yard, Narwal area here, officials said today.
They said, a transporter, identified as Rashpal Manyal son of Bishan Dass of Ghagwal, at present Yard Number 6, Transport Nagar, Narwal unloaded a consignment of cable car at Transport Yard on August 3 but couldn’t keep it in a safe place due to its heavy size.
Early morning on August 5, he said, some 8-10 unidentified thieves came in a heavy vehicle and decamped with the wire.
According to him, acting on the written complaint of the transporter, a case FIR number 246/2025 under section 303(2) BNS has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation has been taken up.
