No official statement was issued by the Government after the Cabinet meeting.
Official sources, however, told the Excelsior that since decisions of the Cabinet are subject to approval of the Lieutenant Governor, they are not disclosed immediately after the meeting.
“As and when approval of the Lieutenant Governor is received, the orders are issued for implementation,” they said.
The Cabinet reportedly discussed a proposal for rehabilitation of the shopkeepers being ousted due to construction of Flyover bridge at Satwari.
This was a long pending demand of the shopkeepers backed by many organizations and political parties including main Opposition, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The issue was also repeatedly raked up by the BJP MLAs during budget session of the Assembly. The shopkeepers have also been holding regular protests demanding their rehabilitation.
The Cabinet reportedly approved a proposal for promotion of a couple of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Services (JKAS) officer.
Most of routine business of various Government departments on agenda was also cleared by the Cabinet.
Meanwhile, the Legislature session will be held in the month of September, most likely from middle of the month in Srinagar.
Sources said six months for convening the Legislature are being counted from April 28 when one-day special session of the Assembly was held in the wake of April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 civilians including 25 tourists and a local were killed.
The session is expected to be brief with six to eight sittings and lasting around 10 days.
The Cabinet also discussed in detail the Kishtwar and Kathua cloudburst tragedies and measures to further help next of kin of victims and locals in their rehabilitation.
