JAMMU, Nov 2: Bhartiya Yog Sansthan (BYS), conducted an inspiring and soul-touching meditation session at its Yogashram located at Gole Gujral, near the Revenue Complex, under the guidance of Satya Paul Sharma, State president, BYS.
The session began with a warm welcome to all Yoga participants by Jia Lal Sharma, general secretary, who led the group through loosening exercises followed by the chanting of Om and the Gayatri Mahamantra with deep explanation of their spiritual significance.
The main meditation session was conducted by Anil Kumar Sharma, organising secretary, who elaborated on the philosophy and practice of meditation — why to meditate, what is meditation, how, when, and for what purpose meditation should be done. He focused particularly on Chakra Sadhana, explaining in detail the seven chakras — Mooladhara, Swadhisthana, Manipura, Anahata, Vishuddhi, Ajna, and Sahasrara. He described their forms, colours, significance, associated mantras, and their beneficial effects on mind and body.
The session served as an encyclopaedia of meditation, inspiring inner peace, positivity, and a harmonious balance of body and mind.
In his concluding remarks, State president, Satya Paul Sharma highly appreciated the conduct of such a meaningful and impressive session, encouraging everyone to adopt the Yogic way of life for holistic well-being.
The event witnessed the active involvement of several senior members, including S.K. Barkulia (chief patron), Suresh Gupta, senior vice president, Puran Chand Sharma finance secretary, Arun Pachnanda, and Puran Sharma vice presidents, who contributed to making the program a grand success.
A special moment of pride and joy came when Rajeev Gupta, a devoted yoga Sadhak, was felicitated on his promotion as Chief Engineer by Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner.
The celebration reached its peak with the birthday celebration of Satya Paul Sharma, where Dr. Jain presented a self-composed poetic life sketch dedicated to him. The occasion was celebrated with high enthusiasm and warmth by members of the Indian Yoga Association, including Ashok Gupta, Yesh Pal Sharma, Narinder Wadhera, and Kulbir Kajuria, who specially attended to participate in the celebration.
The event beautifully embodied the essence of “Connecting Within – The Yogic Path to Harmonize Life.”
