POONCH, June 30: The bus and mini-bus operators/ transporters held protest against the State Transport authorities for the new controversial order issued recently.
The bus and mini-bus operators and owners of the area, today assembled near ARTO office here and held protest demonstration. They alleged that with the new order issued by the Transport Commissioner, the bus/ mini-bus transporters/ operators of the area will have to go to RTO office Jammu for seeking fitness certificate of vehicles because powers have been withdrawn from the local ARTO.
They said earlier they used to get the certificate from Poonch Transport office but now they will have to move to Jammu, 235 kms away and lot of their time will be wasted and it will be costly affairs for them. They demanded that the new order should be reviewed. They also submitted a memorandum to the ARTO, Poonch Mr Jahangir who assured that the same shall be forwarded to Transport Commissioner at Srinagar.
