DODA, Jan 13: Assar police today arrested a bus driver and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor pouches from his possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan said that on specific inputs, police party from police station Assar laid a naka near Assar and intercepted a bus bearing registration number JK14C-5286.
During checking, 252 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of the driver, SSP added.
The bus driver identified as Hazur Din, son of Mohammad Din of Bathri Thathri was arrested and the illicit liquor was seized, he said.
A case under FIR number 1/14, under Section 48-B Excise Act has been registered at police station Assar and investigation started.
