Sir,
It is very unfortunate that militants have once again started burning of schools in the valley after a lull of some months. The burning of schools is mere frustration on the part of militants who want to remain in news on one pretext or the other. This move serves nobody’s interests. Neither that of student community nor the militants themselves. The student community in the remote parts usually suffer on accounts of shortage of staff, infrastructure and other deficiencies. Now, when the buildings are razed to the ground whole edifice of education system will collapse. The affected people have expressed their resentment over such anti-social activities in the past, though it was muted for obvious reasons.
Had burning of schools solved Kashmir imbroglio by this time, peace may have returned to the Valley. Nothing like that happened, nor will happen in the future.
It will ruin the careers of thousands of school children belonging to poor section of society. Rich will get hardly affected. They can afford exorbitant fees charged by private institutions. Hope good sense prevails on those who are hell-bent on destroying education system in the State.
Yours etc…
