Burglary case cracked, ornaments worth Rs 51400 recovered

JAMMU, Aug 23: Police Station R S Pura solved a burglary case within days by arresting two accused and recovering stolen ornaments worth Rs 51,400.
Police said that on August 17, complainant Inder Chand of Bagga Marh reported that unknown persons had broken into his house on August 11 and decamped with gold and silver ornaments. Acting on the complaint, an FIR (Number 171/2025 U/S 305 BNS) was registered at R S Pura Police Station.
A special team led by SHO R S Pura, Inspector R S Parihar, under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu, used technical assistance and local inputs to apprehend the accused – Satnam Singh of Nawashehar, Punjab, and his wife Kuljit Kour of Bagga Marh, R S Pura.
On questioning, the duo confessed to the crime and on their disclosure, police recovered the stolen property, including three pairs of gold earrings, a pair of silver bangles, a pair of silver anklets and a silver chain.
Police said further investigation is in progress to ascertain their involvement in other such offences.
