SRINAGAR, Dec 2: People’s Democratic Party senior leader and party candidate for Amira Kadal constituency, Syed Altaf Bukhari said that through an inclusive agenda of peace, prosperity and development PDP wants to develop a sense of rebuilding society together wherein citizens and a progressive Government hand-in-hand can give a new direction to the trouble torn State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing various door-to-door meetings held in Rawalpora area, Bukhari said the high rates of abstention in Assembly elections especially in Srinagar city reflects an expression of people’s sense of powerlessness that has been there due to misgovernance and political ineptitude under National Conference regimes.
Bukhari appealed the people to be a part of this changing political paradigm in the State by casting their votes in favour of the best available candidates.
“We believe in a transparent, accountable and participatory democracy. Reduction of corruption, an increase in administrative efficiency and a real redistribution of resources towards neglected sections of the society have been the hallmark of PDP led Government in its brief period of rule in 2002,” Bukhari remarked.
