JAMMU, Apr 19: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today chaired a crucial party review meeting in Jammu, where he strongly criticised other political parties for misleading voters during the elections with false promises and emotional slogans.
Bukhari said that despite the formation of the Government months ago, key public issues remain unresolved.
He cited unemployment, problems of daily wage workers, detainees, and the plight of migrants as areas where no significant action has been taken.
“The parties that misled voters are now exposed. People are still waiting for solutions to their basic problems,” Bukhari said.
The meeting was attended by senior party leaders, including Provincial President Manjit Singh, Senior Provincial President Faqir Nath, Vice President Prem Lal, former legislators Yawar Mir and Shah Mohammad Tantray, and all District Presidents and heads of party wings.
The gathering aimed to review the performance of party leaders and workers across Jammu province.
During the discussion, grassroots-level feedback was shared, and leaders spoke on public grievances and organisational matters.
Bukhari stressed the need for the Apni Party to remain closely connected with the people and continue raising their issues.
“We are a party of the people. We will always stand by them and make sure their voice is heard,” he said, while urging the cadre to prepare for the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Several leaders also raised the issue of migrants. They demanded an increase in relief, attention to unemployed migrants who have become overage, and swift allotment of shops constructed for them in 2010. Expressing concern over their prolonged suffering, Bukhari urged the administration to act without delay.
“The Government must address migrants’ issues immediately to provide them some relief,” he said.
