JAMMU, Sept 2: P L Kaul Budgami’s another book on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits hits stands today.
The book titled as Kashmiri Pandit Dastan-i-Dhar-U-Rasan was released at a grand function here this morning which was organised by Jammu Kashmir Nationalist Movement (JKNM). The book was released by the community stalwarts, Dr. K. N. Pandita, writer, columnist, opinion maker, Surinder M Ambardar, MLC (J&K State), Dr Agnishekar, convenor, Panun Kashmir and an eminent writer and P. N. Shad a well known writer.
A galaxy of intellectuals, writers and social activists attended the function.
The author of the book, P. L. Koul Budgami, an educationist has written several books and this was his fifth one. This book was third one on the subject of Kashmir and Kashmiri Pandits. The author has made an attempt to speak candidly about the agony and apathy of the community’s harsh realities. The foreword of the book is written by Prof Kashi Nath Pandita, a well-known scholar. He has traced the history of five thousand years. He has made references to the historical facts from King Lalitaditya to Dogra rule of Maharaja Hari Singh.
Four papers were read on the book by Vijay Kashkari, Pran Pandita, a well known art critic Sohan Lal Tickoo and M L Ganjoo. In their papers, they all, in length, talked about the subject of the book and conveyed to the audience, what the author wants to convey.
In their concluding remarks, the guests of honor, sitting in the podium were appreciative of the author for his bold writing and correcting the history of displacement, distorted by the agencies for ulterior motives.
The MLC, assured the house, about the government policies and in particular BJP’s positive stand towards displaced community.
