JAMMU, Sep 5: In order to provide emergency relief to the rain and flood affected families, Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) organized a relief material distribution camp here today.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member of Parliament and Chander Mohan Gupta, former Mayor of Jammu were the special invitees of the occasion.
Ration kits and tarpaulins were distributed among the most impacted residents of Kishanpur, Kanha Pota, Kanyala, Chhurta, Jhajjar Kotli, Mand, Dansal and Bajalta villages.
Speaking on the occasion, Srimat Swami Satyamitranandaji Maharaj, secretary of BSS expressed his concern for the affected families and emphasized the importance of timely humanitarian aid.
“Our mission is to stand by the people in times of distress. These relief kits and essential supplies are a small token of support, but they will help families meet immediate needs and recover from this calamity,” he said.
Jugal Kishore Sharma lauded the Sangha’s efforts and urged citizens to come forward and help the victims.
He said, “Heavy rains have caused significant hardship in these villages. I appeal to fellow citizens and organizations to contribute generously so that the affected families can regain stability. The Sangha’s swift action demonstrates how community efforts can bring relief where it is needed most.”
Chander Mohan Gupta praised the relief drive and highlighted the need for collective responsibility in such times.
“Natural calamities like these remind us that solidarity and prompt action are vital. I commend the Bharat Sevashram Sangha for its dedication and urge local authorities and citizens to continue supporting relief initiatives for the people of Kishanpur, Kanha Pota, Kanyala, Chhurta, Jhajjar Kotli, Mand, Dansal and Bajalta,” he said.
The distribution drive witnessed active participation from local volunteers and Sangha officials, ensuring that aid reached those most in need.
