AKHNOOR, Apr 12: The J&K unit president of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Darshan Rana has claimed that BSP will realise the dreams of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
He was speaking in a meeting held at Akhnoor, wherein discussions were held on the current situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The strategy to strengthen the party at grassroot level, was also chalked out during the meeting.
Rana accused the current Jammu and Kashmir Government of allegedly neglecting the SC, ST, and OBC communities. He asserted that the Government has been consistently ignoring these sections, specifically pointing out the persistent delays in implementing reservation for SC/ST categories in promotions in the Govt jobs in Jammu and Kashmir.
Demanding action in this regard, he stated that a transfer policy for SC/ST Government employees posted in Kashmir must be implemented as soon as possible as the BSP has been continuously agitating for this cause. He further noted that whenever the security situation deteriorates in Kashmir, Government employees often become targets of violence.
During the meeting, he also expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of attacks on members of the SC/ST communities, emphasizing the need for the Government to formulate an effective policy to curb such discriminatory acts. He stated that the party must work tirelessly to realize the dreams of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar within the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Party’s vice president in J&K, Charanjit Chargotra, along with several others, also shared views.
