BSP seeks fair distribution of plots to flood-hit families

JAMMU, Dec 23: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Jammu & Kashmir, has welcomed the decision on allotment of five-marla residential plots/land to flood-affected families, while strongly asserting that this long-pending demand had been repeatedly and consistently raised by the BSP.
Darshan Rana, president BSP Jammu & Kashmir UT, stated that the BSP has always maintained that families who lost their homes and livelihoods due to floods must be rehabilitated with dignity by providing them at least five marla of land. He said this step addresses a genuine humanitarian concern of the affected families.
At the same time, Rana categorically demanded that the distribution of five-marla land must be carried out in a fair, transparent and corruption-free manner, strictly on the basis of eligibility, without any political favouritism, discrimination or interference.
He further demanded that all eligible flood-affected families must be identified through a transparent process; possession of land must be handed over within a fixed and reasonable timeframe and basic facilities such as drinking water, electricity, roads, drainage and other essential amenities must be ensured alongside allotment.
BSP made it clear that mere announcements are not enough, and real justice will be achieved only when the benefits reach genuinely to the affected families on the ground.
The party reiterated that it will closely monitor the implementation of this decision at every level and not hesitate to raise its voice if any injustice, delay or misuse is noticed. Every eligible flood-affected family must receives rightful rehabilitation.
