AMMU, Mar 28: While intensifying its campaign for Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) today organized public meetings in Suchetgarh and RS Pura Assembly segments.
On Thursday, BSP meetings were organized at villages- Kalyana, Balesar, Qutub Nizam, Simbal Camp and Thikaria of Suchetgarh and RS Pura Assembly constituency and appealed to the people to give their full support to Bahujan Samaj Party. During these meetings, State president of the party Darshan Rana was leading the poll campaign. Senior leaders including Hari Chand, Raja Singh, Bishan Dass Bhagat, Raja Kumar Bhagat, Gurdev Singh and others were also present.
Addressing the meetings State president Darshan Rana said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir want change and only Bahujan Samaj Party can bring this change. He said that the public has understood that there is a lot of difference between the words and actions of the BJP, Congress, National Conference and PDP. These political parties have always betrayed the people of Jammu and Kashmir and after the elections are over, the leaders of these political parties have not listened to the people.
He said that even today Jammu and Kashmir is suffering from corruption, inflation and unemployment, but it is surprising that the leaders of these political parties have not spoken on these important issues till date. He also expressed his views on the issue of giving reservation to Other Backward Classes (OBC) and said that only eight percent reservation has been given to OBC people in Jammu and Kashmir, which is not enough and BSP has been continuously demanding that at least 27 percent reservation should be given to OBC category people in Jammu and Kashmir.
Rana said BSP candidate Jagdish Verma is in the election fray from Jammu- Reasi Lok Sabha seat, hence the people of Suchetgarh and RS Pura Assembly constituencies should give their full cooperation and support to the Bahujan Samaj Party so that the party candidate can serve the people after winning.
