BSP demands immediate action on public health, land record issues

JAMMU, Mar 9: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Jammu & Kashmir president, Darshan Rana, has expressed serious concern over issues affecting the common people and urged the Government to take immediate corrective measures.
Darshan Rana stated that the prolonged non-functioning of critical diagnostic facilities in major Government hospitals of Jammu is a matter of grave concern. Essential diagnostic equipment such as CT Scan machines have reportedly remained non-operational for months, causing immense hardship to patients who depend on Government hospitals for affordable healthcare.
He said that due to the absence of these vital diagnostic services, patients—particularly those from economically weaker sections—are being compelled to seek tests in private diagnostic centres at very high costs. This situation not only delays proper diagnosis and treatment but also imposes a heavy financial burden on poor families.
Rana emphasized that such lapses in healthcare services cannot be treated as routine administrative issues. The Government and the concerned departments must ensure that all necessary medical equipment in Government hospitals remains functional and properly maintained so that patients receive timely diagnosis and treatment.
He also raised concern over the delay in reconstruction of missing and damaged ‘Mussavi’ (land record maps) in several areas. These records are essential for determining land ownership and boundaries, and delays in their reconstruction are creating uncertainty and difficulties for landowners and farmers.
The BSP believes that issues related to public healthcare and land records directly affect the lives and rights of ordinary citizens. Therefore, the administration must treat these matters with priority and ensure prompt resolution.
Darshan Rana urged the Government to take immediate steps to restore diagnostic facilities in Government hospitals and accelerate the reconstruction of ‘Mussavi’ records so that people do not suffer due to administrative delays.
