MENDHAR, Aug 23: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) a Govt of India undertaking remains always in news for its dismal performance particularly in the State as several of its exchanges have gone out of order and one such exchange installed at Harni which was reportedly non-functional for the last 4 months.
Though, the 50000 souls of different areas in Harni were being benefitted by this exchange but for the last more than four months, the said exchange of BSNL is non-functional, sources said, adding putting the subscribers who were users of internet and broadband etc at the receiving services for no fault of theirs.
The main areas which were fed by this exchange were Harni Prat, Gursai Top, Gursai Nallah, Mohra Kallar, Naka Manjari, Gultha Kandi, Harmutta besides several other hamlets. The students community of these areas was reportedly main sufferers as the internet facilities sans in these areas.
Chairman Mendhar Youth Club Advocate Nadeem Rafiq Hussain Khan has urged the Chief General Manager J&K Circle that the said exchange be made functional at the earliest as its failure has affected to a great extent the lives of the people who were connected with this exchange, he said.
