JAMMU, July 15: The BSF and Rangers today held a flag meeting at Chambliyal forward post on the International Border (IB) in Ramgarh sector in which the two sides discussed cutting of grown up ‘sarkanda’ (wild grass) along the International Border (IB) and recent firing by the Rangers in Arnia sector.
Reports said the BSF team in the flag meeting was led by Sukhwinder Singh, Second-in-Command of 200 battalion while the Rangers were represented by Wing Commander of 12 Chenab Rangers Mohammad Ali. Both officers were accompanied by about a dozen officers each.
Reports said the BSF lodged strong protest with the Rangers over two incidents of firing in Arnia sector.
Further, they added, the two sides also discussed cutting of grown up ‘sarkanda’ along the IB, which was preventing clear view on the border. The two sides agree to cut the ‘sarkanda’.
Reports said the Indian side wanted to cut the ‘sarkanda’ as the militants could take advantage of grown up grass to sneak into this side.
