BHADARWAH, May 22: Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has started blacktopping Bhadarwah-Basohli-Pathankot National Highway from village Pujena.
The interstate Bhadarwah-Bani-Basohli-Pathankot road passes through famous tourist destination Guldanda in Bhadarwah. Apart from this spot, Chattargala Pass and popular tourist spot Sarthal valley are also connected by this road. Notably, due to heavy snowfall and other types of geographically triggered barriers, this road gets blocked and becomes less traffic worthy for at least six months.
“Guldanda is the major tourist destination of summers like Padri Dhar is in winters. Whoever visits Bhadarwah prefers to visit Jaie first, although the road to the high-altitude grassland is in good condition barring some patches but still to make the journey more enjoyable for the visitors, BRO has started blacktopping of the road,” said OC GRIFF 118 RCC Gaurav Tiwari adding: “This will surely boost tourism industry and in coming days it can emerge as an important parameter of Bhadarwah-Basohli-Pathankot National Highway.”
In a communication issued in this regard, the BRO stated that blacktopping operation was aimed to facilitate seamless movement of vehicular traffic along this vital link connecting J&K with Punjab.
As per BRO, with the clearance of this stretch of NH, medical and other facilities have become easily available to a large population living along this NH.
“The whole exercise was carried out under the guidance and supervision of Commander 35 BRTF Udhampur, S.K Singh,” Tiwari stated.
Expressing gratitude to BRO, Mohit Kotwal, a resident of Bhadarwah said, “The action of BRO has demonstrated its unwavering dedication by promptly blacktopping the NH giving a sigh of relief to the people.”
