BHADERWAH, Oct 9: The Border Roads Organization (BRO) sprang into action swiftly clearing snowbound stretches of the Bhaderwah-Pathankot Interstate National Highway and restoring a critical lifeline for residents and tourists across the chenab valley.
Teams from the 118 Road Construction Company (RCC), guided by Commander 35 Border Road Task Force (BRTF), S K Singh, rolled out before dawn braving bitter winds and daunting gradients to reopen the highway linking Jammu and Kashmir to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Jivitesh Razora, OC 118 RCC BRO said, “The swift clearance operation was undertaken to guarantee the unimpeded flow of traffic, reaffirming BRO’s commitment to ensure connectivity and public safety in the toughest terrains.”
Resumption of normal traffic allowed ambulances, emergency services and supply trucks to reach stranded communities just as relief was needed most bringing a sigh of relief across the valley.
Sprinkling salt on the frozen stretches of the Bhadarwah, Bani, Basoli, Pathankot National Highway, BRO officials enhanced safety for motorists negotiating treacherous patches.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh lauded the swift, round the clock response from 118 RCC based at Bhaderwah.
The herculean efforts of BRO once again underscored its pivotal role in keeping the region’s veins open ensuring that the beauty and bounty of chenab valley remain within reach for both residents and travelers, come snow or storm.
