Brave civilians get police jobs

SRINAGAR, Aug 11: Recognizing the brave act of two civilians in nabbing the Pakistani militant Mohammad Naveed on August 5 from the forest of village Chirdi in Udhampur district, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, today issued appointment orders, besides recommending them for prestigious Shaurya Chakra award.
The Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar, today issued appointment orders in favour of Rakesh Kumar Sharma S/o Kali Dass R/o Pakhlai at present Narsu Chirdi Tehsil and District Udhampur, on operational grounds as Constable in the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The Police Headquarters (PHQ) also recommended the Government for accord the relaxation in qualification bar in favour of Bikramjeet S/o Shri Madan Lal R/o Nanak Nagar Tehsil and District Jammu, on operational grounds for appointment as Follower in the Department.
In another decision, the (PHQ) submitted its recommendation to the Government for prestigious award in favour of two brave civilians of Ashoka Chakra Series of Gallantry Awards “Shaurya Chakra” on the occasion of Independence Day for their conspicuous gallant act exhibited by them in apprehending a Pakistani terrorist, who had fled from the encounter site after his accomplice was killed by the security forces.
