JAMMU, Apr 9: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS), Parade Jammu, is going to celebrate Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Jayanti by organizing a series of functions and events on April 12, 15, 17 and 19 at the Sabha Bhawan.
While interacting with media persons here today, President of the DBPS, Ved Parkash Sharma gave details of the celebrations in connection with Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Jayanti falling on April 19, 2025.
“Series of events will begin with a free medical camp by Dr Sushil Sharma, HoD Cardiology Super Specialty Jammu on April 12, 2026 in the premises of the Sabha at 11 AM while Dr Rakesh Sharma, Orthopadician of Nirmaya Hospital Udheywala Jammu is also scheduled to conduct free medical checkup,” he informed and added that whosoever is desirous for medical check-up, he/she is advised to register his/her name at Brahman Sabha Parade Jammu.
On 15th of April, 2026 a debate competition based on teachings of Bhagwan Parshuram will be organized in which students of various schools will participate.
“On April 17th, Shobha Yatra would be taken out at 10:30 AM. The Shobha Yatra will start from Brahman Sabha Parade Jammu and after passing through various bazaars of the old city, will culminate at Chanakya Chowk Parade,” informed Ved Parkash Sharma.
He added that the religious function would be organized on 19th April, the day of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, at 8 AM beside Yagno Pavit programme on the same day in the premises of Sabha at 9AM onward.
Chairman of DBPS Advocate P C Sharma disclosed that the Jayanti is also being celebrated at District/Tehsil level across Jammu region in which people from all walks of life are expected to take part. Sabha will also hold Bhandara on April 17, 2025 at 2 pm. “We appeal all Biradaries and communities to attend and participate in the function and get the blessing of Shri Bhagwan Parshuram Ji,” he said.
Prominent dignitaries who were present on the occasion included former Mayor Rajinder Sharma, former Deputy Mayor Purnima Sharma, N C Sharma, M L Sharma, Advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Subash Shastri, B R Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma, Vice President Akhnor Brahman Sabha, B S Jamwal, Devinder Sharma (Babbu) and others.
