JAMMU, Mar 31: The Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha, Channi Himmat, has appealed the Union Territory Government to declare Bhagwan Parshuram Janmotsav as a gazetted holiday instead of restricted holiday every year.
A resolution in this regard was unanimously passed during a meeting of the Sabha, held today under the chairmanship of Inderdev Sharma.
Members of the Sabha claimed that this move will benefit the Brahman community and inspire younger generations to follow Bhagwan Parshuram Ji teaching.
Sabha pointed out that the Governments in Punjab and Haryana have already declared this day as a gazetted holiday under Negotiable Instrument Act.
Meanwhile, the Sabha also decided to celebrate the Parshuram Janmotsav with enthusiasm and fervour on 19th of April 2026, by organizing several religious functions. Religious scholars will deliver sermons on this occasion. The meeting was attended by Pran Nath Koul, YashPaul Sharma, Prashant Sharma, Chaman Lal Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Manmohan Sharma, Prabhu Dayal Sharma, Girija Sharma, B N. Sharma, O P Dubey, Bhoomi Chand Sharma, Chanchal Pal Sharma, Ram Nath Sharma and Bansilal Sharma.
